Down for Maintenance (But Make It Surgical Chic)
Currently out of office. Not mentally—physically.
Your girl is officially in her “under construction” era, and let me just say… the renovation was extensive.
What was supposed to be a “we’ll just clean a few things up” situation turned into a full-blown:
- uterus eviction
- bonus appendix removal (?? okay)
- partial colon cameo
- and a scavenger hunt of endometriosis that apparently said, “let’s spread out and get comfy”
Love that for me. I went into surgery thinking this was going to be a simple fix. Instead, my body said: “Let me show you a season finale.”
Plot twist?
They found endometriosis basically everywhere it RSVP’d to.
Bowel? Yep.
Ligaments? Of course.
Places I didn’t even know had names? Absolutely.
So if you need me this week, I’ll be:
- walking like I just fought for my life (because I did)
- romanticizing broth and crackers
- accepting that healing is my only personality trait right now
And honestly? I’m not mad about it.
Because here’s the thing no one really tells you:
Sometimes “slowing down” isn’t a cute aesthetic choice.
Sometimes your body hits the emergency brake for you.
So this is me… listening. Resting. Healing. Letting my body recalibrate after years of quietly dealing with something that turned out to be not so small after all.
Maintenance mode: activated.
Hot girl summer: postponed (but we will reschedule).
Until then, I’ll be over here—
stitched up, slightly delusional from pain meds, and very proud of a body that finally got the help it deserved.
